Being new to the area and not knowing anyone to ask, I chose Elgin Veterinary Hospital after reading all the great reviews. I was not disappointed! Dr Hoppmann was wonderful with my cat. She is very compassionate and informative. You can tell this isn't just a job to her, this is what she loves. Every one of the employees were super nice, chatty, and happy to answer any questions I had. I feel very relieved to have found such a great place to take my furbabies!

I cannot praise this team of people enough. Dr. Hoppmann is a wonderful person who truly cares about my pets as much as I do. She is so knowledgeable, and never hesitates to answer all of your questions. The staff is also friendly and extremely helpful. She has been caring for my animals (two cats and a dog) for a few years now, and there is nobody else I'd trust to take them to.

She literally saved my cat's life once - and made it an affordable experience. This cat now has to be on medication for the rest of her life, and Dr. Hoppmann came up with a solution that is both low-cost and low-stress for us and our precious kitty.

I highly recommend this veterinary clinic based on their affordability and the genuine, caring nature of the staff and doctor. They really do treat you like family.

My 2 babies were seen other than yearly shots. One had to be neutered, the other is 13 yr old pug that has severe arthritis and I worried about his pain and it being recommended he be kindly euthanized.
The Doctor and staff are compassionate and really listen. He was able to come home with me on 2 meds to help him feel so much better. I bring my dogs from Lancaster to go there and a big plus, because my dogs mess have refills I can go online to their site to refill the meds and they mail them here for me.
Thank you all for giving me the peaceful decision to take my pug home with me today knowing his pain is controlled and I'm not letting him suffer.

My wife and I have been taking our animals to Dr. Hoppmann for a little over a year, and have always received excellent care. One of our cats recently had a very difficult auto-immune problem, and it's no exaggeration to say that this animal hospital saved the cat's life; furthermore, the price of care for this disease at other vets' offices were so high that we would not have been able to afford it, but the prices at the Elgin Veterinary Hospital were low enough that we could get our pet the care she needed. I hate to think about what would have happened without Dr. Hoppmann.

we met Dr. Hoppmann about 6 months ago after our ferret spent an extremely expensive evening at the emergency room. she quickly diagnosed our Popeye as having an insulinoma and went thru all of our options. she was extremely thorough and honest. we knew that there was no permanent fix, but her course of treatment gave our pop an extra 3 months of happy living. when it did come time for the hard decision to be made, she showed so much compassion to our pet and my husband and I, we felt like she was part of our family. we have since started bringing our other pets to her, and trust her and her staff 100%.
we live in Irmo and have no problem driving the 30 minutes to see her. she is the only vet there, so you know exactly who will be seeing your pet. her staff is extremely courteous and helpful. they even send you pictures of your animals in recovery after surgery so you know they are ok! and the prices here are about 2/3rds of most of the vets I've visited in Columbia.

Dr. Hoppman took care of our bunny, Harmony, for eight years. Bunnies are very fragile and under her care, Harmony lived a happy and healthy life. When she got sick, Dr. Hoppman was kind and knowledgable and the bunny came back from severe illnesses four times.
